Prof. Ndumiso Cingo
Prof. Ndumiso Cingo (South Africa) is the Strategic Partnerships Manager for South Africa’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), a position in which he drives and manages collaborations with organisations and institutions in the public and private sectors in South Africa and internationally. He was previously CSIR Innovation Manager, and Head of the CSIR National Laser Centre in 2009-2014, a research centre dedicated to excellence in laser research and related applications in South Africa and the African continent. He has previously held academic positions at the Tshwane University of Technology and the University of South Africa.
Dr Cingo is well-versed in policy development matters in South Africa, having served in leadership roles to develop the National Strategy for Photonics and the National Nanotechnology Strategy Implementation Plan. In this regard, he was Chair of the Photonics Initiative of South Africa and the South African Nanotechnology Initiative, which brought together the scientific communities in South Africa in photonics and nanotechnology to inform the South African government’s policy in these critical areas of the country’s research and development landscape.
On the African continental front, Dr Cingo led the development of the African Laser Centre (ALC)strategy for laser research and development in Africa through his role as Chairperson of the Board of the ALC. Furthermore, in his role as Strategic Partnerships Manager for the CSIR, he led the development of the strategy for the African Union Development Agency Centre of Excellence in Science Technology and Innovation, which is co-hosted by the CSIR. He has further served in the Executive Board of the World Association of Industrial and Technological and Research Organisations (WAITRO) as a Regional Representative for Africa, o role in which he led to the establishment of the WAITRO Special Interest Group for Africa. In the global arena, Dr Cingo has served as a member of an international steering committee which successfully lobbied the United Nations General Assembly through UNESCO to declare 2015 as the International Year of Light.
Dr Cingo holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Ohio University in the USA.

As an IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator, Lowell consistently delivers dynamic sessions to organizations, actively engaging volunteers, members, and staff through experiential learning methods.
Beginning his career in informal education, Lowell has accumulated over a decade of experience working within associations, focusing on areas such as membership and value, volunteer leadership development, professional development, global alliance building, communications and marketing, community management, operations, finance, HR, and staff oversight. Following his tenure as the Chief Operating Officer for a medical association, Lowell returned to his passion for facilitating and collaborating with volunteer leaders, members, and staff by founding Vista Cova.
In addition to his role as CEO, Lowell is actively involved in various leadership capacities within the ASAE, including serving on the ASAE Research Committee and as a past Chair for the overseeing commission for the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. He also chaired ASAE’s Task Force on CEO Pathways and previously led as Chair for ASAE’s Component Relations Council. Notably, he is the creator of the master-level learning series, Through the CEO Lens, and Association Charrette, a co-creation retreat experience. Additionally, Lowell has contributed significantly to the field, co-executive editing and contributing as an author for ASAE’s Component Relations Handbook, 2nd edition, and contributing chapters to the latest versions of Professional Practices of Association Management and Membership Essentials.
In Winter 2023, Lowell completed his doctorate in education with a focus on organizational leadership from St. Mary's University of Minnesota, further enriching his expertise in the field. His commitment to mentoring is evident through his role as a mentor for ASAE’s Diversity Executive Leadership Program and his previous involvement as a facilitator for ASAE’s Centennial Recognition Task Force. With a global perspective, Lowell has contributed to associations across five continents, worked with hundreds of volunteer groups, and engaged with all 50 states in the U.S.

She connects with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds and fosters an environment of mutual respect especially in the context of offering social impact projects to ICF-accredited professional coaches and ICF Chapters through the Ignite Initiative Program.
By providing pro bono or reduced-rate coaching engagements to leaders, employees and beneficiaries of organizations supporting the United Nations Global Goals, Ignite Initiative Program empowers meaningful social impact on a global scale.
Kathleen manages partnership portfolios with UNICEF, World Vision, Obama Foundation, and Special Olympics. She currently works with a team of 41 (forty-one) volunteer project leaders who connect ICF credentialed members with organizations in Middle East and Africa, Europe, N. America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific to attain the UN Sustainable Goals through professional executive coaching. Through her work she has helped increase the annual number of global coaching projects from twenty-one (21) to fifty-six (56) and an annual increase in funding up to seven hundred and five percent (705%).
Previously, she was involved in regional roles with ICF and in helping set up chapters in underrepresented regions in Africa.
She volunteered for three (3) years as an organizing secretary in the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Kenya Chapter where she managed pro bono and reduced-rate coaching programs.
